Wonderful Arlberg Winter - Ski and Winter Holidays in Lech am Arlberg

Hannes Schneider was one of the pioneers at the Arlberg, who changed skiing to what it is today. Basic concepts of its "Arlberg Technique" are still after 100 years  valid. But the Arlberg area always has been a pioneer: the first ski lift in Austria was built in Zürs, and the Galzigbahn in St. Anton was the first cableway designed for winter operation.

In the ski school Oberlech an international team of highly trained ski instructors offer to learn the fine art of skiing or refine your technique. Group and private classes are available for all levels and for all ages.

To be a membership of the oldest ski club in the world is a great honor. 1901 the Arlberg Ski Club was founded, and three years later the first ski race and 1906 the first ski course was held. In the following years the arlerbg developed into a traditional winter sports region, which offers through the efforts of many ski pioneers today 260km piste descents, 180km deep snow slopes and 83 modern cable cars and lifts.

The development of skiing and tradition is the object of interest at the association ski.kultur.arlberg.  Set up in 2008, the project explores the field of "In the footsteps of a miracle in White". While an 8-member scientific advisory board dealt with the research and processing of the material, the SKA Advisory Board organized a fair exhibition.

In the kids' club Lech, Zürs and Oberlech the very young learn through play the first dealing with snow and skis. The children become accustomed to carefree ski and snow, so that the transition to ski school is much easier. The daily schedule is clearly structured, the child has nevertheless maximum movement and freedom with approx. 2 hours skiing, free play and a diverse entertainment program.
